The dung beetle is perhaps nature's most perfect value investor. It travels often parched and rugged terrain collecting the undervalued yet wasteful cast-offs of other beasts (be they bull or bear or neither). These often contain rich, yet to be fully recognized, nutrients. The beetle skillfully rolls up these patient finds until it has amassed a remarkably sizable sum upon which to feed and raise its young. Never one to waste a single ounce of value, the beetle will often bury any excess dung collected, thus returning the nutrients to the soil, and thereby reinvesting for the good of the entire ecosystem. Waste not, want not.
