Wired on the Apple turbo boost effect.

Betsey Schiffman, writing in Wired, does a good job of pointing out the parallels between what Apple did to boost the digital music business and what the company is now doing to goose the overall smartphone market. For anyone who's stuck with Apple through the decades, this is a familiar story, going back to the garage days and, a short while later, the revolutionary move to adopt the Xerox PARC GUI in the original Mac. Now we move from desktop to pocket, and another major turbo boost to the broad universe of mobile products. More important, though, from my vantage point anyway, is the significant creative liberation -- or liberation of creativity-- that comes with it. I can't stress that enough.
