Subliminal advertising making a comeback via Palm Centro?

I just caught a new :30 TV spot for the Centro that employed an artful "hand-flipping-album-art" editing technique, a la iPod. The illusion created by this is that the Centro has a cool touch screen. If this emulation of the multi-touch screen technology was accidental, it was one hell of an accident. If, however, as I suspect, it was not an accident but a conscious move to slither like a snake under the halo of iPhone advertising, then it's nothing short of deceptive; the kind of shady, manipulative advertising that casts a bad light on the whole industry.
