Have you read your own epitaph lately?

Just noticed that John Moore has a new Would You Miss entry going today, this time on Pizza Hut.

As a former CD and Account Planning geek, I love this exercise. And if you haven't done it for your brand(s), hurry, before they really do die from lack of care.

But don't stop there. You can also do the same for yourself. And I mean you, in the flesh, not the brand. Real life.

Get quiet. Get honest. Write your epitaph as you honestly believe someone close to you might pen it when you're long gone and not around to "correct" them. Be brutal. You'll thank yourself later for the insight.

Now, if you're a parent, here's an even more valuable exercise. Instead of stepping into the shoes of a friend, slip on the slides of your kids. And imagine it's the day after your funeral, and your kid just ran into a friend, and the friend says, "Hey, too bad about your Mom and Dad."

What's your kid's response?

Anything you want to do to change that? While you can?
