Will this be the cure for Microsoft's impotence?

I hope so. I'd like to believe the buzz that this signals the serious commitment of Microsoft to evolve as a stronger competitor to Google. Nothing ensures healthy innovation like real competition.

Should be fun to watch.

my first thought, it will hasten the evaporation of both of them, but can't argue why ... maybe too much an advertisement play and not enough product, combined with changing economy, more ad space than ads, and two "old" companies losing their way, marriage won't change much

but what do i know... agree with you, will be interesting, but that is true about everything these days, all spheres of human activity
