Bill Gates, the Mister Rogers of Capitalism?

Just reading in today's WSJ a piece headlined "Bill Gates Issues Call For Kinder Capitalism." This article, previewing Gates' address later today at Davos, makes me chuckle. Not that I disagree with Mr. Gates' desire or intent. But, c'mon, suddenly the guy turns out the lights of his office, slips on his cardigan sweater, laces up his tennies, and wants to wander the world preaching about how capitalism can be more like socialism?

What an odd, odd fellow. A true goofball.

But, hey, the world should most definitely be a better place with his donated billions going to the poor. Not to mention the billions he talked out of his BFF Warren. The timing and ironies shouldn't bother me, I guess. Let that stuff go. Yeah, that's the ticket.
