We all just want the secret handshake

Thinking a little more about this conundrum that new media owners find themselves in, and the consternation about the role of media in the new conversation economy. And then this image of Ralph and Norton popped into my head. And I could imagine them holding their Lodge meetings on Ning or Facebook. In the Raccoon Group. Think about it. Is now really so different from then? Sure the meeting rooms look different. And membership is gained more easily. But it's still all about belonging to a group, identifying with values and shared experiences and endorsed brands. Break it down. Go back to the purity of one-to-one, door-to-door selling. Start with the club president. Build community. From one to many, from the inside out. I dunno. Makes sense to me.
