King Rupert?

While Murdoch's run at the DJ empire is grabbing lots of headlines, what's got me thinking seriously about buying into NewsCorp is the commentary floating around lately about the role of social media, and specifically portals like MySpace, as the town squares of the future, replacing TV and newspaper as the place where people expect to get their daily news.

Murdoch's already assembled most of the content, has the pipelines, certainly has the money and power, and with DJ, will have a legitimacy beyond reproach. Could be a steamroller cum juggernaut with a counterculture twist.
